According to her arrest report, Heather Marie Cruz, of Charlestown, Rhode Island, and her 66-year-old boyfriend had an argument inside the bar before she followed him outside to a nearby dock.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies said Cruz claimed that her boyfriend got mad and grabbed her by the neck and took her to the ground, but she didn’t have any marks on her.

Deputies said it was the boyfriend who was bleeding and had a cut to the right side of his face near his eye.

According to the report, a witness told deputies that Cruz had broken a bottle over the victim’s head.

A Caribbean Club employee, who had called 911, also reported Cruz as being the aggressor.

“I was working behind the bar when some customers made me aware of a domestic situation on the dock,” she wrote in a statement to the sheriff’s office. “I went to check it out. He was holding her down to restrain her. His face was bloody and he said she had hit him with a beer bottle. She was screaming a lot and saying some crazy stuff, including threats to cut off his penis. I called 911 and waited for the officers to show up.”

According to the arrest report, Cruz acknowledged to deputies that she may have struck her boyfriend in the face, but denied that she did it with a beer bottle.

She said he held her down because he thought she was going to kill him, according to the report.

Cruz was arrested on charges of battery on a person over 65 years of age and domestic battery.
