Hialeah man accused of killing 6-year-old son before turning gun on himself

HIALEAH, Fla. – Hialeah police are investigating a murder-suicide involving a 6-year-old boy and his 36-year-old father.

Police said the double shooting was reported around 7:50 p.m. Thursday at an apartment complex at 7225 W. 11th Court.

According to police, the boy’s father shot his son before turning the gun on himself.

They said the boy’s mother found their bodies and another relative called 911.

According to authorities, neighbors told investigators that the father, who was originally from Pakistan, appeared to be a very involved father, teaching his son how to ride a bicycle around the neighborhood, among other things.

At a nearby business registered to the father, a sign was posted saying it was closed due to unforeseen events.

The identities of the father and son have not yet been released.

A motive remains unknown.

The investigation is ongoing.
